A little bit about me…

June 2024/Updated May 2026

Thank you for finding your way to my blog.

So you want to know a little bit more about who I am. Fair enough. Here is what comes to mind (in no particular order):

I am sure that you and I have some differences. I also am sure that we share things in common.

I am a daughter, sister, mother, and aunt.

I am your friend. I am your neighbor. I am the parent of your kid’s friends. I am your colleague, your patient, your client, your customer, your acquaintance. I am the person you sometimes see at your local grocery store or restaurant.

I love animals, plants, trees, the land, water and air in all of their forms, Mother Earth. I am extremely humbled by, and grateful for, all of my animal companions (both living and in spirit) who have chosen to accompany me on this life’s journey, as both my teachers and friends. I also am so grateful for my power animals and spirit guides, as well as the spirit animals, who selflessly share their guidance, support, and unconditional love with me and provide me with help when needed.

I was a student of private and public school systems when I was young. I am a life-long student of many of the opportunities that life on this planet has to offer.

I believe everyone should do his/her own laundry. I am good about washing dirty laundry. I am not very good about putting it away. Laundry mountains are a real and impressive thing at my house (and I do not think this is a good thing! hahaha).

I do not live to cook, but I do make incredible sandwiches and great salads. I am a fan of local farmers markets. I believe in organic and regenerative farming.

I love art of all kinds. I have worked with pencil, charcoal, oil painting, ceramics, clay (handbuilding and wheel), knitting, weaving, monoprinting, paper and mixed media, just to name what I can recall in the moment. I currently am focusing my artistic efforts at paper arts, including bookbinding/making meaningful journals.

I used to be a voracious reader, but these days my pace has slowed down considerably and I tend to prefer listening to books (although I will always love the feel and smell of a book in paper form).

I am not a coffee drinker, but I appreciate the smell of coffee.

I love laughter. I love a sense of humor rooted in kindness. I love joy. I love smiling. I love finding silver linings in the occurrences of my life; they always are there when I take the time to look.

I love beach walks. I love forests, oceans and open space. I love sunsets and sunrises, the sounds of a thunderstorm and the flashes of lightning, the music of rain, the smell of petrichor (this is a word I did not realize that I wanted to know until I read it and looked it up).

I am proud to be more than a half a century old (now 55 years as of 2026 and counting!). I have had many experiences in my life; each has led me to where I am today, even if, at the time, I could not see where it would lead me. I am so grateful for them all.
